“Introduction to Systematic Design of integrated circuits” summer school

Online

ETTI students in years 3 and 4 interested in analog integrated circuit design are invited to participate in the Summer School on "Introduction to Systematic Integrated Circuit Design" organized from 10 to 21 July by the DERFAIC Research Group with the support of the IEEE Student Branch of the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca. The aim of the course is to familiarize with methods and techniques for designing analog and digital integrated circuits using design environments used in industry, such as Cadence Virtuoso. We follow the main design steps, from architecture to wiring diagram, from circuit element sizing to comprehensive verification of the resulting circuit, followed by mask design for integration. As in previous editions, two sessions are scheduled each day: 9-12: presentation of concepts, methodologies, and design examples 13-17: applications The first week is dedicated to learning how to use the Cadence Virtuoso environment to analyze and design basic analog function blocks - from current mirrors to transconductors and operational amplifiers. The first half of the second week is devoted to designing masks for integration (layout) and the last half to designing digital ICs using Cadence tools. The participation of students in this course is free of charge. Students who complete the Summer School courses will be able to do their summer internship in the DERFAIC group, with the possibility to continue working on their thesis. In addition, the student with the best results during the course will benefit from a three-month paid internship in a company in Cluj-Napoca. The course will take place online, but the number of licenses available is limited. As a result, please let us know as soon as possible of your intention to participate. To do so, simply send a short message to [email protected] stating your motivation for attending the course. Please indicate your year of study and group, mobile phone, and IEEE membership, if applicable. Sponsor: Infineon Technologies Romania
