Our IEEE student branch aims to promote technology, exchange knowledge and transfer skills to get you closer to this mission. Meet Committee Members
Chair
Shujun Xiao received her BEng degree in Electrical Engineering and Automation from the Shanghai Maritime University in 2019 and her MSc degree in Advanced Microelectronic Systems Engineering from the University of Bristol in 2021. She is currently pursuing her PhD degree at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Bristol. Her research interests include wireless control systems for sensing-actuation devices.

Vice Chair
Laiz Souto is currently a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Future Energy Networks at the University of Bristol with the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. She received her degree in Electrical Engineering, option Energy and Automation, from the University of Sao Paulo in 2013, her MSc degree in Electric Power Systems Engineering from the University of Sao Paulo in 2016, and PhD degree in Electrical Engineering and Artificial Intelligence from the University of Girona in 2021. Her main research interest is in strengthening power grid resilience to extreme weather events now and in the future.

Zichao Shen received MEng degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Bristol, United Kingdom, in 2020. He is currently pursuing his PhD degree at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Bristol. His research interests include adaptive neural network computing system, embedded near-threshold processors for IoT and mmwave radar applications.

Secretary
Bowen Wang received a BSc degree in Physics from the Sichuan University, China, in 2020 and an MSc in Optoelectronic and Quantum Technologies from the University of Bristol, the United Kingdom, in 2021. He is currently pursuing his PhD degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Bristol. His research interests include design and optimization for optical nanodevices.

Treasurer
Minghui Zhu received his BEng degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the South China Agricultural University in 2020 and his MSc degree in Advanced Microelectronic Systems Engineering from the University of Bristol in 2021. He is currently pursuing his PhD degree at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Bristol. His research interests include surface electrocorticographic (ECoG) array electrodes for monitoring and direct stimulation applications.

Counsellor
Faezeh Arab Hassani (BSc, MSc, PhD, SMIEEE, FHEA) received her PhD degree in Electronics Engineering from the University of Southampton, United Kingdom, in 2012. She is currently a Lecturer in Microelectronics and Programme Director of MSc Advanced Microelectronic Systems Engineering at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Bristol. Her research interests include micro/nano-electronics, micro/nano-electromechanical systems (MEMS/NEMS) hybrid devices, sensors, actuators, and energy harvesters for healthcare and environmental applications.
