IEEE is the world’s largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity. Our IEEE student branch aims to promote technology, exchange knowledge and transfer skills to get you closer to this mission. We would like to put you in control of your career by exposing you to new topics and networking with extraordinary scientists and engineers across the University and abroad.

Meet Committee Members

Chair

Marah Alassaf received her BSc in Computer Engineering and Mobile Telecommunications from Al-Shahba University, Syria, in 2017 and her MSc in Advanced Microelectronic Systems Engineering from the University of Bristol, United Kingdom, in 2019. She is pursuing her PhD in Digital Health and Care at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Bristol. Her research interests include nano-flexible wearable sensors for the early detection of cancer.

Secretary

Sophia Perpetua Dias received her B.E. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Goa College of Engineering, India, in 2022 and is currently pursuing her M.Sc. in Advanced Microelectronics Systems Engineering from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Bristol, United Kingdom. Her research interests include Sensors and MEMS switches

Treasurer

Yi Wang received his Bsc degree in Science in Computing from Macao Polytechnic University, China, in 2023 and is currently pursuing a Msc degree in Robotics at the School of Engineering Mathematics and Technology, University of Bristol. His research interests include vision-based robot-assisted minimally invasive surgery and natural language processing methods for mental healthcare.

Counsellor

Faezeh Arab Hassani (BSc, MSc, PhD, FHEA, SMIEEE) is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Electrical, Electronic, and Mechanical Engineering, University of Bristol. Dr Arab Hassani received a PhD degree in Electronics Engineering from the University of Southampton, United Kingdom, in 2012. She then joined the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST), Japan, for her Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) post-doctoral fellowship (2012-2013). She continued her research career at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), National University of Singapore (NUS) (2013-2014), University of Sheffield, United Kingdom (2014-2016), and the N.1 Institute of Health (former Singapore Institute for Neurotechnology), NUS (2016-2019). Dr Arab Hassani received a JSPS invitational fellowship to conduct research at the University of Tokyo, Japan (2019-2020). She is the Programme Director of the MSc Advanced Microelectronic Systems Engineering at the University of Bristol. Her research interests include micro/nano-electronics, micro/nano-electromechanical systems (MEMS/NEMS) hybrid devices, sensors, actuators, and energy harvesters for healthcare and environmental applications.
