The UCT IEEE Student Branch held its first Annual General Meeting on the 22nd February 2010 inside Lecture Theatre 2D of Leslie Social building on UCT campus. This was a great opportunity for the new committee to meet members of the society and introduce ourselves to the new and renewing members. A solid program was laid out complete with seven presentations by the newly appointed president, Joyce Mwangama and heads of the various portfolios (ComSoc, EPICS HIGH, Publicity, Recruitment and Events, SAIEE) at the UCT branch. The presentations were received with much enthusiasm with members applying to take on SubCom positions as advertised by some of the heads. The program was a great success, with a fair turn out of members. Refreshments were served at the end of the function which lasted 45 minutes in total to allow for the next lecture that was to take place in the venue.
