What a year it has been so far! Indeed we hope that the year started out well for you all. With the situation world wide, it is clear that Covid-19 is a serious matter and definitely, for the best needed some serious attention.

With that said, we have been instructed to postpone or cancel our remaining events as a society for the semester that would require physical presence. In light of this, we have decided to comply with this and cancel the remaining events for the semester that would require this. This is saddening as this means that the much anticipated site visit and some of the WiE events have been canceled.

It is important to highlight two events in particular that we are losing for the semester:

  1. Hackathon
This was going to be our main event that would combine the expertise of programmers and hardware enthusiasts on campus with guided assistance. But we won’t say much more as the plan is to postpone this event to next semester!
  2. Birthday Bash
The keen eyed among you would have noticed that this year is our 15th year as a branch. We were going to party on the 24th of May! Instead, we will try put together a little something special for the day but we will celebrate much more on IEEE Day this year rather.

Indeed we are at a loss but we will make the most of the online resources made available to let you not be left out of the loop. We will be alerting you to competitions and opportunities afforded by IEEE that members will be able to take advantage of.

We wish you all the best in these tough times. We hope to keep interacting with you on our various social media platforms! Find out more about them here!
