TALK BY Dr. Rajdeep Deb , NIT Silchar  on Artificial Pancreas 

Speaker Details:  Dr. Rajdeep Deb is an experienced researcher and academic who works with the Department of Electrical Engineering at the National Institute of Technology Silchar. He is a senior member of IEEE since 2013, Fellow IE (India) since 2021, and a member of IFAC affiliated society - Advance Control and Dynamic Optimization Society (ACDOS). He has served as the founder Executive member of IEEE Kolkata Chapter for Joint Measurement and Control System Society, ACDOS, and IE (I) Silchar Local Centre. Since 2022, he has been serving as the Honorary Secretary of IE (I) Silchar Local Centre and General Secretary of ACDOS.  In summary, Dr. Deb's presentation shed light on the potential of a cyber-physical system approach to create an artificial pancreas that could provide a convenient and effective solution for patients with diabetes mellitus. His insights into the control system problem of developing an artificial pancreas and the in-silo approach to simulate its function were particularly informative. Dr. Ramchandra Pujeeri, the Pro Vice-Chancellor, delivered an inspiring address, emphasizing the pivotal role of IEEE in advancing technical and professional skills. He highlighted the organization's efforts in fostering innovation and collaboration among its members. Following this, the IEEE Pune Section Head shared insights into the local chapter's contributions.
