Achievements


1. IEEE Region-10 HTA Highlight Video Contest

On 30th July 2021, Mr. Malhar Deshkar, Ms. Monika Bhole and Mr. Nagesh Udasi from our SB secured 2nd position in the IEEE Region-10 HTA Highlight Video Contest. The title of their video was “Advanced Touchless Sanitizer Dispenser” and the video showed the detailed working of their project with all the necessary tools required to build it. A virtual felicitation ceremony is scheduled around Mid of August, 2021.

2. IEEE XTREME Ambassador

On 3rd June 2021, Mr. Parth Agrawal of third year, Electronics Engineering got selected as the IEEE XTREME Ambassador from our IEEE student branch. His work is to take part in the IEEE Xtreme Micro Volunteering Challenges, promote and help IEEE members to host IEEEXtreme events in the SB Hosting Seminars, Pre-Workshops, Training Programs. He has completed 3 initial tasks out of 18.

3. TEMS India Student Volunteer Programme

Mr. Ritesh Jaiswal of third year, Electrical Engineering got selected as a student volunteer. He is the only member from IEEE Bombay Section who got selected in the team across India.

4. IEEE DAY 2021 Ambassador

Mr. Ritesh Jaiswal got selected as the IEEE Day 2021 Ambassador. Also, he got selected for the post of Social Media coordinator in the IEEE QT3 Talk Table Series. His job is to connect people and handle the social media pages

5. IEEE PES Zero Hunger Day

Ms. Monika Bhole got selected as IEEE PES Zero Hunger Day Ambassador.She is one among the 276 ambassadors from 58 IEEE sections (39 countries) and 140 universities across the world.

6. IEEE YESIST’12

Bhumika Bais participated in IEEE YESIST’12 at Stamford International University,Thailand on 7-8 September 2019.

7. IEEE TEMS Outreach Ambassador Programme

  • Bhumika Bais selected for IEEE TEMS Outreach Ambassador Programme and promoted as Team Leader. There are 15 ambassadors under Team.
  • Bhumika Bais also got 1st Prize in Group Discussion held Online on 21st July 2019. Topic of the group discussion is “Online vegetable shopping v/s shopping from local market” how does it impact farmers and local vendors.

8. IEEEXtreme 11.0 ambassador

Geetika Mohabe worked as an IEEEXtreme 11.0 ambassador from Bombay section.Geetika selected among the top 300 teams from INDIA in IEEEXtreme 11.0.Geetika Also a member of IEEE Division Activity Committee for Nagpur subsection and Functioned as Director of Finance at IEEE TechMUN 2018.

9. Grant of Scholarship

Ms. Geetika Mohabe received Late Shri Hemant Sonawala Scholarship  for promising women engineering student for year 2017-18. She is a final year student of Electronics Engineering. She is active in IEEE activities and is functioning as the Chair for IEEE-RCOEM student branch. Hinditron Group in association with IEEE Bombay Section has instituted an annual scholarship of Rs. One Lakh in memory of Late Shri Hemant Sonawala.

10. MODEL UNITED NATIONS (MUN)

Winners of MODEL UNITED NATIONS (MUN) at GHRCE on 2nd and 3rd March 2017: Ms. Aarti Gubrele of second-year B.E. Civil Engineering, represented as the delegate of Israel in the UNGC DISEC committee and bagged a High Commendations certificate for her performance. Mr. Aditya Sinha of the Second year B.E. Electrical Engineering represented as the delegate of Vietnam in UNGC DISEC committee and bagged a High Commendations Certificate for his performance.

11. CONSPIRACY THEORY 1.0, 2017

Mr. Kaiwalya Joshi, a student of the first year was declared as the winner and Ms. Nishi Mandhana, a student of the second year CSE, was declared as the runner-up of CONSPIRACY THEORY 1.0 organized On 28th February 2017 at RCOEM.

12. Student Awareness Program 2015

Two teams of our college participated in the student awareness program which was organized by IEEE PUNE section and IEEE Student Branch of PVG’s College of Engineering and Technology, Pune on 23rd September 2015 for students of Engineering and Science colleges. In this competition both the teams from our college performed exceedingly well securing the First and Second position. The first winner team members were Omkar Kekre, Madhulika Dolke, Shivani Kshatriya and Saiesh Kumar Jain and the second winner team members were Gauri Pande, Sayali Bodhankar, Prajakta Dharme and Ankit Mahant. The entire competition was a very new and learning experience and gave the students a chance to compete and excel in a national level program.

This program was organized to create awareness about development and inventions in technologies among students studying in schools in rural and urban areas. Under this contest, a group of 2 to 4 students from an Engineering and Science College has to give a presentation to students of 8th to 10th in two schools located in the urban area and two in a rural area. The above task started in the month of June and on completion, feedback forms duly filled and signed by the Head Master/Principal of the school were submitted to IEEE Branch Counsellor of the college. The sealed feedback along with a hard copy of the report containing presentation material, presentation, and a summary of question and answers was submitted as an entry to the final competition. In an internal competition on 1st September 2015 two best groups was selected for final presentation at Pune. The judges for the internal competition were Dr. G.G. Sahasrabudhe and Dr. (Mrs.) P. S. Voditel.

13. IEEE Region 10 Humanitarian Technology Conference

IEEE members  Kritika Joshi, Prerna Shrivastava, Saima Ali Sayyed participated in  IEEE Region 10 Humanitarian Technology Conference(2014 )- Student Contest at Chennai, Tamil Nadu during  6-9 August 2014.

14. Participation of members in International conference

3 members of IEEE RCOEM Student Branch participated in ICESC-2014(International Conference on Electronic Systems, Signal Processing, and Computing Technologies)

15. Autobots AVR event

IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers)-RCOEM branch and EESA(Electrical Engineering Students Association) jointly organized two days, workshop Autobotz AVR for students of all the engineering branches as a part of IEEE Day celebration on 1st and 2nd October 2013.

Members of IEEE RCOEM Student Branch participated in this Autobotz AVR event organized by technophilia systems. 125 students attended the workshop and got hands-on experience of controlling robots using AVR microcontroller. A group of 5 students received a kit to be interfaced to PC for future development. Some members also cleared the zonal level.
