The IEEE KU Student Branch is a vibrant community comprising predominantly engineering students, along with those pursuing various tech-related courses. However, our inclusive environment extends a warm welcome to students from diverse disciplines, including medicine and health sciences among other disciplines. We believe that a multidisciplinary approach enriches our community, fostering collaboration and a holistic understanding of technology’s impact on different fields.
Our student branch hosts a range of societies, including CAS(Circuits and Systems Society), Photonics, PES(Power and Energy Society), EMBS(Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society), EMC(Electromagnetic Compatibility society), ComSoc(Communications Society), Computer Society, Sensors Council and an affinity group, WIE(Women In Engineering society). Through these societies, we organize events, training sessions, and workshops that cater to the interests of all our members. Whether you are an engineering enthusiast or a student from a different discipline with a passion for technology, there’s a place for you in our diverse and dynamic IEEE KU. As technology evolves rapidly, we understand the importance of staying ahead, and together, we strive to keep our knowledge and skills up-to-date in this ever-changing landscape. Join us on this exciting journey of learning, collaboration and innovation.

Testimonials
"I had a great opportunity to develop my leadership abilities thanks to IEEE. Since receiving my undergraduate degree, I have been involved in various situations that have taught me great lessons about soft skills, networking and how to build a network of relevant people with whom I stay in touch virtually every day. IEEE provided me with a platform from which I may use my abilities to help others and a chance to serve students and professionals"
Allan Koech
Embedded Systems Engineer
"I have been impressed with the urgency of doing. Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Being willing is not enough; we must do."
Cynthia Thuo
