Welcome to the University of Birmingham IEEE Student Branch (UoB IEEE SB) website!

We also act as the IEEE Power and Energy Society (PES) Student Chapter at the University of Birmingham.

Our branch is one of the most vitality and influential branches at the University of Birmingham. We regularly organize several events and conferences, including keynotes, workshops and student presentation competition each year. IEEE and PES Student and Graduate Student Promotional Codes:

1. Free 2024 PES High Grade (HG) Membership – Use a new promo code PESJOY23 for a free 2024 PES Essential HG Membership. The code will become effective starting 1 October through 31 December 2023. It is good for all new, arrears, or inactive PES members with new or renewed IEEE membership. Note that all PES student members and YPs who elevate to HG and are up for renewal as HG for the first time.
2. 50% Off for Recent Graduates – Use a new promo code PESCELEBRATE50 for 50% off of 2024 PES Essential HG Membership. It is good for all PES Young Professionals who transitioned from students for the second, third, and fourth year. Note that IEEE already offers 50% off for all PES student members who elevate to HG for the first year.
3. US$1 for New PES Student Membership or Renewal – PES lowered PES student membership fee from $15 to $1 in 2023, applicable for electronic package (Student Essential Membership). The $1 student membership fee will be good for 2024 as well and no promotion code is needed for 2024 new PES student members or renewal.
