Event Review: Distinguished Lecture – History, Our Endeavours, and Future Research of Grid-Forming Converters

On 26th February, we successfully hosted a distinguished lecture on Grid-Forming Converters at the University of Birmingham (G33, Y3 Building). The session was led by Prof. Jingyang Fang, an esteemed researcher in power electronics and energy systems.

 

During the lecture, Prof. Fang provided a comprehensive overview of the history and advancements of grid-forming converters. He discussed the key technical challenges, research developments, and the future of grid-forming technology in modern power systems. His insights into the evolving role of converters in enhancing grid stability and supporting renewable integration were particularly valuable for students and researchers interested in sustainable energy solutions.

The event attracted a diverse audience, including students, faculty members, and professionals, fostering meaningful discussions on the future of power electronics.
