ABSTRACT:

The demand side of the power system contains a large number of various types of flexible adjustment resources, but due to the long-term “valuing power generation and neglecting electricity consumption” of the power system, this part of resources has not been effectively utilized. In recent years, with the continuous deepening of the “carbon peak and carbon neutrality” strategy, the modern power system dominated by renewable energy has been developed rapidly. The high proportion of renewable energy penetration has greatly reduced the flexibility and inertia of the supply side. It is urgent to tap the potential of demand-side regulation to ensure the safe operation of the power grid.

My research has been conducted on the theory and methods of demand side flexibility resource regulation in the power system. In response to the three major challenges, i.e., 1) strong randomness and high uncertainty of flexible resources in multiple time scales, 2) difficulty in collaborative regulation of massive flexibility resources with incompletely observable information, 3) difficulty in unleashing the response potential of differentiated flexibility resources, the theory of dynamic tracking of demand side flexibility resources under multi time scale has been innovated, an online real-time regulation method for massive demand-side flexibility resources with incompletely observable information has been proposed. A demand response incentive mechanism that balances differentiation and fairness has been established.
