Emerging Issues in Transportation Electrification Forecasting

As efforts to electrify the transportation sector are underway worldwide, electric utilities play a key role in forecasting adoption and preparing the infrastructure necessary to facilitate integration into the power system. This talk will provide insight from Southern California Edison’s transportation electrification forecasting and modelling efforts. Discussion will include the latest forecasts of transportation electrification for the State of California, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on electric vehicle charging, geospatial adoption patterns, SCE’s charge ready program, and recent state policy and legislation effecting electric vehicle adoption.
