Bio: Dr. Gary Preston, PhD, CEng

Dr. Gary Preston has worked in Power Systems consultancy for the past 12 years, specialising in electromagnetic transient analysis and in later years leading large teams of engineers.

2003 – Enrolled at UMIST to read Electrical and Electronic Engineering

2006 – UoM, MSc Electrical Energy and Power Systems

2007 – UoM, PhD Power Systems, supervised by Prof Terzija

2011 – Joined Parsons Brinckerhoff as an Assistant Engineer in the Power Systems team

2012 – Promoted to Engineer

2015 – Promoted to Senior Engineer

2017 – Promoted to Principal Engineer

2019 – Promoted to Manchester Power Systems Studies Team Lead

2020 – Joined TNEI as Connections Team Manager

Abstract: In this talk Gary Preston will introduce specialist energy consultancy TNEI, discuss some of their services and key clients and share some of his perspectives on job applications.
