Title: Revisit Energy System Integration—From Numerical to Analytical
Time: 11:00 – 12:00 (GMT), 13th December 2024
Venue: B22, Y3 Building, University of Birmingham
Abstract: Energy system integration like electricity, gas, and heating is a trend to facilitate net zero. This is based on accurate modeling of multi-energy flows through partial differential equations across different timescales. Solving these problems depends on numerical methods, while additional challenges such as multiple redundant variables, significant approximation errors, and difficulty in maintaining stability are introduced. This speech revisits the basis for energy system integration and introduces an analytical approach. Its applications in hybrid cyber-physical system simulation, economic scheduling, and security analysis are discussed.
