Event 1.0

The introductory event of the IEEE Student Branch (SB) of IIT Goa was organized on 17th July’20 and was conducted virtually due to the corona outbreak. The event was held under the able guidance of Dr. Sharad Sinha, Dr. Nandakumar Nambath, Dr. Sashidhar Sampathirao, and Dr. Neelakandan Rajamohan. Students were introduced to the newly established student branch by the email which marked the beginning of the event sent by the branch chairman, Prasoon Vishwakarma. The event was compromised of four tasks and the interested students were requested to form a team, of up to 4 members, with students of different branches and skills due to the eclectic nature of the event.

The event had different points for each task according to their difficulty level and in total, the event had 1000 points. 

Winner: Team 201 (Khushboo Gupta,  Sejal Gupta, Twisha Bansal)

-Logo Designing (100 points)

  Designing the official logo for the ÍEEE Student Branch’s official website. The winning team was awarded prize money of INR 300 and certificates for each member, and the logo was declared to be the official logo.

Winner: Devang Jain

– Article Writing (200 points)

  Writing article on the topics concerning the domains of modern computer science and electrical engineering technologies/innovations. The winning team was awarded prize money of INR 400 and certificates for each member. The runner-up team was awarded prize money of INR 300 and certificates for each member. The articles of both the teams were displayed on the IEEE Student Branch’s official website.

Winner: Pioneers (Prachi Kashikar, Pavitra Prakash Bhade)

First Runner up: Team 201 (Khushboo Gupta, Sejal Gupta, Twisha Bansal)

– Competitive Coding (400 points)

  A 24-hours competitive coding competition organized on the Hackerrank platform. The winning team was awarded prize money of INR 500 and certificates for each member.

Winner: Team 201 (Khushboo Gupta,  Sejal Gupta, Twisha Bansal)

Circuit Designing (300 points)

  A problem statement based minimum power and cost consuming electronic circuit design competition The winning team was awarded prize money of INR 500 and certificates for each member.

Winner: Zapdos (Omkar Prasad Ramdas, Mahendra Kumar, Kripendra Kumar)

The overall winning team was awarded prize money of INR 1000 and a certificate for each member of the team. Many students participated actively and the event ended successfully with a positive response.
