BRANCH INTRODUCTION
IEEE UCET IUB Student Branch, established in April 2010, has six technical chapters and one affinity group working enthusiastically for the past 10 years. The IEEE UCET IUB is one of the most active branches of Pakistan and Region 10. It has won IEEE R10 SAC Best Student Branch Award thrice and got award of R10 Student Branch of the month. IEEE UCET IUB achieved a historic feat of winning 14 IEEE Awards (7 at IEEE Lahore Section and 7 at National Level) and become the most award winner branch at national level by following the reports of year 2021, 2 IEEE Awards by the year 2020, and 8 Awards by the year 2019. IEEE UCET IUB also received 20 IEEE Loyalty Awards (Six 5 Years Loyalty Awards & fourteen 3 Years Loyalty Awards) at 1st AGM of IEEE Bahawalpur Sub-Section. For the last four years, the branch has been able to achieve a membership count of more than 50 and a retention rate of 60-70% through various incentives offered to its volunteers. The IEEE UCET IUB and its technical chapters organized more than 80 events including 3 mega-events in the last two years and won grants from IEEE Foundation, and a special IEEE HAC grant for the COVID-19 project. The IEEE UCET IUB won Event Grant from IEEE HAC 5 times, from IEEE YP 6 times and from 3 times from IEEE R10 as well during last two years.

It is a privilege for me to be a part of one of the most active student branches of Pakistan and Asia-Pacific. The IEEE UCET IUB student branch, formed in 2010, has been one of the most successful student branches of Region 10. Our branch has received a number of IEEE awards including best student branch counselor in 2015, Section’s best student branch counselor award in 2015, Section’s best branch counselor award in 2018, Section’s Outstanding Branch counselor award 2021 and Outstanding Branch counselor award at 14th IEEE PSYWSC.
Over the years, the IEEE UCET IUB student branch has established a strong partnership with IEEE Young Professionals (YP), IEEE HAC, and IEEE SPAA among many others. In collaboration with our partners, the IEEE UCET IUB has started a number of initiatives to improve the skill set of IEEE volunteers & students and to work for the betterment of the local community.
The IEEE UCET IUB student branch has also established a strong partnership with local, national, and multi-national organizations such as Asia Ghee, DHA Bahawalpur, Careem, Coffee Planet, etc. for different initiatives including IEEE AEPEX, IEEE BSSYWC.
Our student branch is working on the vision and mission of IEEE to use technological advancements for the betterment of society. Our focus is to use the IEEE platform for the benefit of South Punjab, an underdeveloped region of Pakistan.
